i dunno why the image on the post below looks like that…
i have had this day to myself
it feels nice
i needed to gather back my energy after socialising
friday somehow took up alot of energy
well oh well oh well…oh well
school starts again this week
soooo much work!!!
i spent yesterday watching freaks and geeks on youtube
great show, really that seth rogen dude is off the hook
i should stop saying these things, because i will be so
embarrassed when i meet him!
what if he googles me
and spells my name wrong only to arrive at this…
noooo ways
i wil leave it on here
some of my ex’s have found their names here
and confronted me about it after
idiots.hahahaha
anyways i kissed a phillipino for the first time the other day
i am excited that he is filipino, i dunno why
i did not even know he was that until my friend told me that he was filipino
i just had no clue
he could have been anything, any mixture you can think of
anyways…
so mumu is somehow featuring again….
he has resurfaced…
we will see i guess
anyways i want a dude as cute as seth (below)
aint he just the cutest geek face you have ever seen?
i might just faint when i see him
i am drinking apple juice with grated ginger + ice cubes shaped like stars and a few drops of bitters

i love it!

i have had some great studio guests in the past 2 weeks!
things are great you know?
it is great!!
i had a great interview today
got me thinking, we laughed etc.
the only thing is that i should learn to judge how much is enough for 1 session
it is impossible to show everything…
i have to pic some key pieces, and single out the ones i wanna talk about but also to spread it out…
there will be more interviews, more in depth write ups…books etc.
yay!!

i have been doing some translation from tswana to english-
translating is so funny!!!
there are these western guys doing a documentary, they have employed a local tswana speaker(in za)
and as he is translating, he juices the story
and he keeps on telling this woman being interviewed to perform
haha
he keeps asking her to say the same story over and over again, but to say it in a way that she must pretend that he is not there, that she has not told him anything already, to pretend that he does not know anything of he story that she is about to tell, that she is not being asked questions…(hahahahahah)
but she keeps on keeping quiet not knowing what more to say!
so he has to keep on asking her questions-the same questions over and over again!!
it is hillarious!!
but the content is rather sad.
it is some documentary on hiv aids,
i really think that the disease is crafted in some western laboratory.
anyways, the way he asks some of the questions illicits answers that are not really all that the woman knows…
this format called ‘documetary’ is really a farce!
in one part it sounds as though she knows nothing about the disease!hahaha!
and the next moment he frames the question differetly and she speaks about how the diseases is contracted or how it spreads…
and she keeps on saying-she has really no idea where it comes from-which is so true too. and she say “they say it comes from this and that…”
always referring to them/they…(the nurses, the clinics)
anyways, and direct translations are so hillarious!
they make no sense at all, or too much sense, they become so poetic
i found myself having to reconstruct the english sese of it….
i guess it is what salman rushdie also talks about when he discusses how a verse came from an angel-then there was an interpreter and then the scribe….and then the editors….
that is why i also hated doing that tv thing some months ago
i had to keep on walking out my door, and pretend the cameras were not there!it was ridiculous!!!
having to hug someone for a camera shot
oh i must go home and sleep now…
the weather is great!!
i have never enjoyed the heat as much as i am enjoying it now, it is worse than durban in february
my skin shines with sweat all the time!not only mine!but everybodies!!!
every body all the bodies!
peace be with you

oh last night was a blast-
whatever that phrase means-
what an old fashioned phrase-it was a blast-it was the bomb!
spectacular!
went to check out a performance at the nu museum,
and the performance was this blues band/enssamble/collective of musicians
they were increadible
one of the leads of the band was absolutely increadible…
he was handsome too
anyways
afterwards went to some bar for a drink with some of the other audience members/artists whatever and the musicians
it was chilled,
then we went to have dinner with the group, on the museum at some chinesse restaurant
nice
then we were gonna go to some party on a blue boat
in chelsea
this dude decided he would drive us there
hot dude, cute-interesting looking
but as soon as we were in the car he was swearing away!
f^%k this or that or whatever-
it was SO WIERD!!!
he was rather aggro, there were 5 of us in the car 3 gay boys and me and him
but that was rather wierd,
i feel uncomfortable with people who swear alot
(i did not grow up with alot of people swearing- my family hardly swears, i have never heard my dad use a swear word, growing up it was only the poorer neighbourhood kids that swore…pone for instance-she swore like crazy! or my aunt phina/fina she swore alot too, is it that my family is conservative?that the christian doctrine was too much their milk and butter?both my late grandfathers were priests- but i think i once heard myone grandfather saying something bliksem…that word, i never understood it-i did not know whether it was black sam or what…bliksem/blaksam-i thought it was some racist thing from the boers, that the locals then used too as a self loathing thing or just to exhaust it- ke tla go bliksema/ke tla go black sam(a)…so i had always imagined my distant uncle -malome sam whenever the phrase had been brought up…he was tall skinny and dark skinny and always smelt of tobacco, he lived in a 4room in zone 1 seshego, he lived\shared the house with a whole lot of people/family memebers…bliksem.)
anyways, so as soon as we arrived in chelsea we could not find parking for about 10 minutes
we decided to leave(charles and i) and we went our own way
and had a fabulous night at some amazing gay boy bar!
you would never think that any of the guys that were there were gay my gawd!it was something else..
(when we left my eyes were looking at all the black men passing by with a different eye…”could he be gay too?”…maybe i might aswell date a white dude, i will decide this weekend.)
anyways
i like polite men who don’t use that many swear words-for traffic.
it is wierd!
i wonder if it is a class thing?
amongst afro americans-
i know is za it is alot of working class people who swear alot-in their own tongues that is…
swearing in your own tongue is not the same as swearing in another one’s tongue.
in the others’ tongue it is always less vulgur, more funny/fun-or the vulguraity has nothing to do with you…
but in sepedi for instance- i could never swear at anyone unless it was really-
well unless there were no more words left…
i dunno, but i would not swear in zulu either…
in english i swear ‘alot’
i say shit alot and f*ck every now and then
so charles said, whilst we were in the car ‘why the use of all those profanities?’
and i said, they are american…
i think the dude got slightly embarassed- or something, because he calmed down-(was it a xenophobic statement? maybe i was making clear that all of a sudden they were different from me and charles-what that difference is remained unsaid?)
i think it is all the crazy hip hop they listen to(haha, that is why it is also wierd to hear someone swearing in english if they do not speak english full time-ie.like a first language sotho speaker or a 1st language french speaker..wierd in a funny way/slightly akward? it is really like something picked up from an american film…)

if swearing is a way of disrespecting a language system
semiotically speaking/practically speaking
speaking within this frame-what is the use of swearing
what is the use of f@ckin swearing?
and why does it really only refer to sex or sexual organs or shitting….
agg, maybe the last question i have answered to myself-
because maybe we still feel(as humans) uncomfortable with our animality
uncomfortable that we go to the toilet and that we have sex, and are at our ‘weakest’ when we are envolved in both
we are no more than animals, this was just a play, a trick
we are animals

but why is it that it is with alot of working class people that swearing is more accepted?
is it?
okay there are alot of midde class people who are south african who swear-in english

there is a part in kopano matlwa’s coconut that is so funny!!
the dad listens to classical music, not because he enjoys it, he probably hates it.
but if he enjoys it…it will say something about him,his class- whatever!
like listening to five fm-coconut.ahahahaha!!
well 5 years ago before fresh infiltrated.
2 dj’s there were always saying such racist things-white south africans are wierd. i think there are alot of bitter ones.
anyways, i will think about the swearing some more!
